Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
What is HBOT and How Does It Work?
HBOT stands for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. It is a medical treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment.
The goal of HBOT is to get more oxygen into body tissues to promote general health and wellness, help prevent disease and facilitate healing of damaged or diseased tissue and organs.
Under normal atmospheric pressure, the body absorbs oxygen through the lungs. However, in a hyperbaric environment, the increased pressure enables the lungs to take in more oxygen. The elevated oxygen concentration in the blood cells and plasma allow for greater oxygen delivery to tissues throughout the body.
Higher levels of oxygen stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, enhancing the function of white blood cells which help to fight infection, promoting the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and supporting the healing of wounds and tissues.
Castle Rock Regenerative Healthcare offers a comprehensive, medically managed, state-of-the-art HBOT program. Our program is directed by Dr. Claude Fortin, board certified in Neurology, Regenerative Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine. He is also certified in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Peptide Therapy. Also on staff is Dr. Scott Faulkner, the founder and medical director of CRRH. He is board certified in Internal Medicine.

How Long Does an HBOT Treatment Take?
Treatment time varies from 30 – 90 minutes per session. The number of treatments as well as atmospheric pressure is usually prescribed by the ordering physician and depends on the condition you are being treated for as well as your medical history.
What Will I Experience During Treatment?
Here at CRRH we have a Medical Grade Hard Sided 2-person hyperbaric chamber. Because our chamber can accommodate 2 people, there is an option for couples or a parent and child to do the treatments together at a reduced rate for the second person. (We will never treat two people at the same time who did not request to be together.) Our hyperbaric chamber is air conditioned for patient comfort, and there are two padded, partially reclining chairs. There is a light for reading and an intercom if you need assistance during your treatment. You will be given supplemental oxygen by nasal cannula or face mask. Once the chamber begins to pressurize, you may have a feeling of pressure in your ears, similar to the sensation of descending in an aircraft, diving deep in a pool or scuba diving. This pressure can usually be alleviated by yawning or swallowing. The increased level of oxygen promotes a deep sense of relaxation. Sit back, unwind, and enjoy the downtime!!
